Brighton Wedding at the Royal Pavilion *Amber and Simon*
- Wedding
If you love colour then you’ll adore this Glam and Mod wedding!
Amber and Simon got married at the spectacular the Royal Pavilion, Brighton, on June. It was a super fun wedding, with so much colour everywhere and an epic confetti entrance. Their day is exactly why I absolutely love being a Brighton wedding photographer.
The couple met online and have been together for 3 years. They are just the loveliest people. I absolutely loved being the photographer for their Brighton wedding.
The excitement before their Brighton wedding
Amber got ready at the most amazing Air BnB in Brighton with her sister, her niece and Simon’s niece, and there was such a happy vibe. The girls were calm and having fun getting ready and the house was just a photographer’s dream with so many quirky places and details and fabulous light. She wore an absolutely stunning gown from the Velvet Birdcage in Worthing, and looked so beautiful. The girls then took a taxi to get to the ceremony. Somehow they managed to get lost, or stuck in traffic (not sure which version to believe) and they happened to find a pub where they did some shots (for encouragement obviously!).
Simon got ready at the Harbour hotel in Brighton and then chilled by the bar waiting for his best man and friends to arrive and gather. He wore an absolutely delicious bespoke suit made by King & Allan featuring … initials on the shirt cuffs, a lyric from our song on the inside of the jacket, and looked really dapper. He travelled to the ceremony on foot with a few of his friends and guests as it was only a short walk to their Brighton Pavilion wedding.
The ceremony
The ceremony took place in the incredible Royal Pavilion in Brighton. They had a beautiful room, decorated in lush warm colours, with mirrors and beautiful natural light from the gardens which was perfect, because it made it so cosy. It began with some lovely readings and vows, and finished with a sweeping first kiss. It was a romantic ceremony, full of so much love and excited hand squeezes. The way that Amber and Simon looked at each other made it really clear they are soul mates. The Royal Pavillion is such an iconic building in the city that you really couldn’t pick a better venue for your Brighton Wedding.
After the ceremony, we went outside the Brighton Pavilion, on their amazing gardens for some family portraits, which was fantastic and fun, the sun was shining and everyone was chatting away. Then we took some time out for photos, which was my absolute favourite part of their day. I got some wonderful natural photos around the city – It was such a fun part of the day for me (and the couple!!) we walked around the laines in Brighton and had so many people stopping us to say their congratulations to the couple. We even high jacked a photo booth at Brighton snoopers paradise and got some lush portraits. The weather was all sunshine and blue skies, it was a stunning day.
The reception
Amber and Simon chose to have their wedding at the latest bar in Brighton because it ticked all their boxes; they wanted a venue with a late licence, space for a band and that could hold around 120 people, and it has so many options. The latest bar in Brighton is a quirky music venue, and it’s got such a party feel to it, especially on the dancefloor when the music starts pumping.
For the reception, the couple had set up a pimp your Prosecco Station and confetti cannons for their guests, and everyone loved it – Amber and Simon made their grand entrance to an unbelievable explosion of colourful confetti everywhere. I seriously don’t think I have ever seen so much of it. Everyone was then called in for dinner, which was a gorgeous array of dishes by Ren’s Kitchen in Worthing. It was so yummy. They had speeches after the dinner, which were really touching – and funny.
The party – Brighton wedding style
After the meal was finished, the band started up to get the party started, and the dancefloor got started. The live band The Wooden Men were amazing. Then the DJ (Dj Gremlin) took over for the rest of the night.
The couple says that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is to stick to your budget and take time on the day to be alone with your new husband/wife.
I loved this Royal Pavilion wedding so much; Amber and Simon got married in style, stayed true to themselves and I love them for that!
